Laser Therapy for Pets

Laser therapy is a tried and tested treatment option for our furry family members. It has been proven to help pets heal and recover from injuries and surgical procedures. Laser therapy has also been successful in helping patients with chronic pain and is a fantastic drug- and surgery-free choice for patients.

What can laser therapy be used for in dogs/cats/pets?

Our team at West Brant may prescribe laser therapy if your loyal companion is experiencing one or a combination of the following conditions:

  • Arthritis
  • Sprains and strains
  • Muscle and bone abnormalities
  • Hair loss
  • Inflammation
  • Hip dysplasia
  • Feline acne
  • Cuts and bites
  • Pain (from tooth extractions, surgery, chronic conditions)
  • Infections
  • Allergies
  • Kidney stones
  • How does laser therapy work on dogs/cats/pets?

Laser therapy works by targeting beams of deep-penetrating light into certain problem areas. The light causes chemical reactions in your pet’s body that will trigger the release of endorphins, stimulate cells to heal faster, and many other beneficial effects.

Is laser therapy painful for dogs/cats/pets?

No. It is 100% painless and is a very quick procedure. Our team will ensure that your furry friend has all the protective gear needed (e.g. protective sunglasses) and that they are at ease all throughout.

Can I be with my pet during their laser therapy?

Yes, of course! Actually, your presence can help keep your pet calm, especially during their first few sessions of laser treatments. If you choose to be with your pet, we’ll make sure that you are also outfitted with protective gear.
